A Date

No, not a date for defending my dissertation proposal or anything quite that productive, professionally. Wife and I had a date Friday night.

Much fun, very much needed. We went with a few friends to Large City to the North (LCN) to eat at a new seafood restaurant where the wood interior was built by the stepfather of one of my colleagues. I'm usually skeptical of getting seafood this far away from a sea, but everything was really very good. Wife knew the original restaurant in this chain from when she lived briefly on the west coast. It was good to get into a 'real' city for a change, and we hope this is the start of a weekly, or bi-weekly, date night for the two of us. Yeah, we don't really have the money for it, but I'll just count my pennies. What's the use in working hard on the degree if you risk losing touch with your own spouse?

So, a good time was had by all.

What did you eat?

(dinner tonight included scrambled, eggs, toast and cheetoes)

I had one of the several salmon selections, and a piece of flourless chocolocate torte (which I just finished tonight!). Wife had another salmon selection and the biggest piece of carrot cake I've ever seen...could NOT finish that one tonight!

Someday I'll even get to cook for you and Wife! I'll cook, serve, pour wine, and disappear.

Cousin Dave - old pal old buddy old friend...

will swap onion loaf from a certain North Side establishment in exchange for your culinary services...

Dave, anytime you want to cook & disappear would be fine by us. Heck, you may not even need to disappear, since we haven't seen you in a long time.

Lemming, I'm not sure Cousin Dave knows of what you speak. He's from "Back East." Now I'm in the mood for a burger North Side Establishment...mmm.

Ahh Lemming my dear,

I know whereof you speak, tho I have never applied dentition to that particualr loaf of goodness. However, I'm happy to oblige with culinary services most of the time. Just charge it to Rob's account.

What did you need?

Dentitial application...I like that one, Dave.

Wait, MY account? You're the one with gainful employment, buddy. As long as payment can wait till they call me Dr. Rob, I'm happy to oblige.

Lemming, just gently remind dear Roberre that payment will be in scotch. In advance. ;P~~~~~~~~

Cousin Dave - what's the specialty of the house? I hate green peppers but will eat almost everything else.

Johnny Walker Red or Black?

Oh yeeeeah. I temporarily forgot about the Scotch. What kind, Dave? For some reason, I don't remember... ;)

Lemming Lemming Lemming. Johnny Walker isn't scotch, it's...well...unprintable. As for the specialty of the house, I can cook almost anything you prefer, but French is probably my best style.

Roberre, if you can find Isle of Jura or Knockando, booya. If not Glenmorangie is a good common brand.

And about the payment in advance, I was kidding. I know you're good for it. LOL
